“The most rigid structures, the most impervious to change, will collapse first.”
~ Eckhart Tolle

Some common questions...

I'm in Crisis! Who do I call if you're not available?

If you are in crisis and require immediate support, please call:
BC Crisis Centre

is what i say confidential?

Everything you say in session is confidential, except under the following conditions:

  1. Disclosure of the physical or sexual abuse of a minor not previously reported.

  2. If you are a threat to yourself or someone else's safety.

  3. I am subpoenaed by a court of law to release my files or to appear in court.

All counsellors in BC are required to participate in ongoing supervision in order to bring our best to our clients. As such, I may bring some of what happens in counselling sessions to my supervision sessions. To protect your identity, I refrain from using any names or identifying information.

Please note:
I respect your privacy. It is my policy not to say hi to clients out in the community to avoid your having to explain to others how you know me. Should you wish to approach me first, however, I am more than happy to speak to you. Please know though that I will not take it personally should you choose not to.

what if i have to cancel a session?

Please cancel or reschedule your appointments as soon as you know you need to. For appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours notice, the full fee for your session applies.

will my extended health care benefits cover the cost of counselling?

All extended health care plans differ. You will need to check with your EHC provider to see if services by a Registered Professional Counsellor are covered. If you are able to submit claims for our sessions, my registration number is RPC #2175.

how long will counselling take?

Everyone is unique. Factors such nature of your current issue, your history, motivation, time available and goals all contribute to how long it takes to experience results.

Most clients find it helpful to commit to weekly sessions for 4 to 6 weeks and then evaluate at that point if they want to continue with weekly sessions or feel ready to reduce their frequency. Most clients find that after they’ve reached their goal, it’s helpful to book the odd session or two as required when new challenges crop up. Other clients choose to book on-going ‘maintenance sessions’ every month or so. It’s really up to you.

How do i book an appointment?

Please use the contact form and I will contact you as soon as possible (generally within 1 business day) to book your appointment. My phone number will be provided at that time should you prefer to book that way in future.
